Pampady School, a cradle institution of a many men of experience, the history of which reflects the Socio-cultural transformations of Thiruvilwamala, celebrated its Centenary on 29th and 30th Dec, 2000.
Available documentary evidence shows that the insception of the school, christened as ‘Malavattom Girls Primary School’ was In the year 1899, in a thatched shed on the western nada of sri VIlwadrinatha temple. History is that the Diwan Peshkar who visited Thiruvilwamala sanctioned the school following request by the natives. It also shared the rare distinction of an institution established for the education of girls at that time. However boys also allowed to pursue their students in the school. Eventually the school was shifted to pampady for the convenience of the students and was upgraded as Highschool in the year 1983.
