Ayyappan Vilakku

One of the main celebrations of the village is ‘Ayyappan Vilakku”, which is celebrated a part of the ‘Makara Vilakku’ at Sabarimala. The Ayyappan ‘Vilakku’ is celebrating at the ‘Temple’ situated at the banks of the famous river Bharatapuzha. The ‘Vilakku’ is celebrating on a grand manner every year on 6th of January. Palakkombu procession with Panchavadyam and decorated elephants, Thayambaka, Udukku Kottu, Ayyappan-Vavar Play, Palkindi Procession, Thalam etc. are the main attraction of the Vilakku.

The Kettunira and other Pooja are supervising by the ever-dedicated ‘Guruswami’, devotees and the society extends him a god-equal respect. Around 120 devotees of Lord Ayyappa are going to Sabarimala from this temple every year after the ‘Vilakku’ & ‘Kettunira’.
